About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Georgia and Colorado, practicing virtually in both states. I grew up in Atlanta, where I received my B.S. in Psychology from Georgia Tech, and moved to Denver to attain my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. It is in Denver where I met my lovely wife and we embarked on this journey of sacred partnership. Together, we have recently moved back to Atlanta to open and explore a new chapter in both of our lives. I hold a deep connection to each state, with family and friends located in both. We have two fun and energetic dogs, Cloud and Tifa, that go everywhere and do everything with us. I enjoy most things and carry that vigor for life into my practice as a therapist. I love being outside, weightlifting, hiking, reading, snowboarding, playing guitar, cooking, going to concerts, and playing video games.

I have always known that I wanted to be a therapist. Throughout my life, I have had numerous therapists, influential mentors, and spiritual guides that had a profound effect on my own development and personal growth. The process of healing and building resilience is one that I am dedicated to and have experienced firsthand. It's a journey that has not only shaped me but also fueled my passion for helping others discover their own strength and healing potential. The privilege of witnessing individuals overcome challenges, find their inner resilience, and embark on their unique paths to well-being is what drives me in my professional journey as a therapist. In this role, I aim to be the supportive guide that others have been to me, assisting clients in their pursuit of growth, healing, and lasting positive change.

My Therapeutic Approach

You are probably here because you or a loved one is facing a challenging period, feeling stuck, or seeking to enhance personal well-being. I want to acknowledge that your presence alone signifies a crucial move forward. I encourage you to trust that intuition and continue along the path toward positive transformation.

I possess extensive experience working with individuals and families of diverse age groups in both inpatient and outpatient settings, addressing a wide range of needs. My expertise spans from specializing in substance use and eating disorders to supporting individuals with mood and developmental disorders. Additionally, I have experience in assisting clients with everyday challenges, such as academic or employment-related stress, grief and loss, and relationship issues.

Change can be a daunting journey, often accompanied by challenges and stress. However, my therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that this transformational process can also be a source of personal growth, resilience, and even joy. I'm committed to creating a therapeutic environment that is not only supportive and empathetic but also engaging and, at times, even enjoyable. My goal is to make therapy accessible to all, including those who may have had less-than-positive experiences in the past.

As a psychotherapist, my approach to therapy is deeply rooted in a holistic blend of evidence-based and humanistic principles. Drawing from Humanistic Psychology, I believe in the inherent potential for growth and self-actualization within every individual. My therapeutic style embodies a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, where clients are encouraged to explore their authentic selves and reach their fullest potential.

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients embrace their thoughts and emotions while fostering a commitment to values-based actions. This approach empowers clients to cultivate greater psychological flexibility, enhancing their ability to navigate life's challenges with resilience and purpose.

Incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work collaboratively with clients to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. This cognitive restructuring process enables clients to gain insight into the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, ultimately promoting positive change.

Existential Therapy forms a crucial part of my approach, allowing clients to explore fundamental questions about meaning, purpose, and their unique life journey. Through this exploration, clients often discover new perspectives and strategies for coping with life's uncertainties.

Lastly, I am deeply committed to a Trauma-Informed Approach, recognizing the profound impact of trauma on an individual's mental and emotional well-being. I prioritize safety, empowerment, and sensitivity in addressing past traumas, ensuring that clients feel heard and supported throughout their healing journey.

My therapeutic mission is to provide a compassionate and empowering environment where clients can explore their inner worlds, develop resilience, and embark on a path of self-discovery and growth. Together, we will navigate the complexities of life, fostering a deeper understanding of self and a renewed sense of purpose. Your journey to healing and transformation begins here.
